NJDGE Reveals Atlantic City’s February 2017 and Full-Year Gaming Revenue Results

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) published a report about the gaming revenue results generated in February 2017. The report presented an assessment made of the Atlantic City gaming industry, including information about the operators that currently run their services on the territory of the state, as well as tax information and details.

In addition, the state’s authorities released information about the gross revenue generated by its regulated online poker websites, and the number of the online casinos in New Jersey.

Industry Performance

According to the the report presented by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the casino win generated from the gaming industry amounted to $186.6 million, declined by 1.8% in comparison to the $190.0 million reported in February 2016. On the other hand, a massive increase of 26.9% was registered in the Online Gaming win from $14.7 million in the prior year period to $18.7 million. The online gaming revenue generated by the gambling industry in the state rose by 26.9% to $18.7 million, helping the total gaming win of the state to buoy with 0.3% from $204.7 million in February 2016 to $205.4 million.

Bally’s AC

As the state’s authorities revealed Bally’s AC experienced a decline of 4.7% in its February 2017 casino win, generating $16.3 million in comparison to $17.1 million over the same month a year earlier. The numbers remain the same for the total gaming win for the month, as no online services are provided.

When it comes to the year-to-date casino win and total gaming win of the operator, a 2.3% decline was registered from $31.0 million in 2016 to $30.3 million.

Borgata

Another gaming giant in the state – Borgata – registered a 0.7% drop in its February 2017 casino revenue from $58.6 million in 2016 to $58.2 million. Caesars

One of the largest brands that currently operate in New Jersey – Caesars – reported a 0.9% increase in its February 2017 casino win, reaching $22.8 million. These were also the numbers representing the total gaming win for the month.

Its online gaming revenue for the 12-month period ended in February 2017 rose by the fantastic 76.9% reaching approximately 10.0 million, and the total gaming win for the year rose by 17.7% to $44.7 million.

Harrah’s

Harrah’s posted a small increase estimated to 0.5% in its casino win, reaching a result of $29.5 million in February 2017. As the brand does not run online gaming operations in the state, its monthly overall revenue equalled its casino wins.

On a year-to-date basis, the mild increase in the revenue generated by the casino operations of the brand amounted to 0.8% to 57.6 million, with the total gaming win equalling this result.

Resorts

In February 2017, the brand posted a 21.4% increase in its casino win, reaching $15.1 million. The total gaming revenue of Resorts for February 2017 was equal to the operator’s casino win.

Resorts saw its casino revenue increase by 15.3% from 23.8 million for the prior year, to $27.5 million over the 12 months ended in February 2017. The numbers were the same as far as the total gaming win of the brand was concerned.

Resorts Digital

The Resorts Digital online gaming revenue for February 2017 saw a massive 131.5% increase from 1.3 million in 2016 to $3.1 million. The result equalled to its total gaming revenue over the months.

Tax Information

According to the report released by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the total gaming taxes in February 2017 amounted to $16.4 million. This amount reflects 8% of the taxable casino gross revenue and also 15% of Internet gaming gross revenue.

What is more, the regulated casino industry in the state was subjected to an Investment Alternative Tax Obligations of $2.8 million. This is a 1.25% of the casino gross win, and also represented a 2.5% of the online gaming gross revenue.
